Filling four cities for a British university
The problem
A British university cannot recruit in China at a distance. Offer holders decide with their families, in person, in Chinese, on Chinese platforms. The institution making the offer is five thousand miles away.
In short
Planning and delivering Leeds offer-holder events across four Chinese cities, and building the university's presence on the platform Chinese students actually use.
- 1,000+

- 4
- Cities delivered in
- 5,000+
- New Rednote followers in 4 months
This is the role the rest of the map leads to. A British university, staffed from inside China, by someone who trained in both systems.
The work has two halves that most people do separately. One is delivery: four cities, a fixed calendar, suppliers and venues and guest lists, and a thousand prospective students who each expect the event to be about them. The other is presence: being visible on Rednote, where Chinese students and their parents actually research a foreign degree, in a register that reads as native rather than translated.
Both halves are the same job. A recruitment event is a promise about what a place is like; the content around it decides whether anyone believes the promise enough to come.
